Strip away the noise — Instagram, TikTok, email newsletters, sponsorships — and you're left with four things that actually drive predictable growth for a local service business. Everything else is optional. These four aren't.
1. Paid traffic (Google or Meta Ads)
The only controllable, scalable traffic source for most local service businesses. Google Ads captures high-intent in-market searches — people who are already looking for what you offer. Meta Ads reach people who match your customer profile before the need arises. Either produces leads. Both require ongoing optimization to produce them efficiently.
2. A converting landing page
Traffic is wasted without a page built to convert. Fast, mobile-first, with a clear headline, visible CTA, and real social proof. This is the asset that makes all traffic more valuable. Improving conversion rate by 1% has the same revenue impact as increasing traffic by the same percentage — but costs less.
3. Missed-call recovery
A significant percentage of inbound leads come from people who call and don't get an answer. Without an immediate auto-text response, a majority of those leads are permanently lost. Missed-call recovery protects the investment made in generating leads by capturing the ones that would otherwise disappear.
4. Quarterly reactivation
Past customers are a compounding asset. A quarterly touchpoint generates recurring revenue at zero acquisition cost, improves average customer lifetime value, and produces referrals from reengaged happy customers. This is the most capital-efficient revenue source in the entire stack.
